Accountant guilty of abusing young girls

The jury in the trial of a 62-year-old man accused of rape and indecent assault have found him guilty.

Leonard Vandenborn denied attacking 2 girls, who were aged between 8 and 14 at the time of the offences.

Today he was found guilty of one count of rape and 12 counts of indecent assault.

The offences took place between 1975 and 1986.

He was found not guilty of two other counts of indecent assault.

It took the jury a day to reach their verdict.

Vandenborn spent six months in prison in the UK in 1992 for the sexual assault of a 26-year-old woman while they traveled on a boat from Jersey to Bournemouth.

Vandenborn will now be held in custody to await sentence.
