A CRIMINAL who lived in Haut de la Garenne as a boy has described how he ‘lived in fear’ of a man who worked at the home.

The 39-year-old, who has been charged with various offences over the years and is currently serving a jail sentence at La Moye for a violent assault, gave evidence yesterday in the third day of the trial of Morag and Anthony Jordan.

He said that living at the children’s home was one of the worst times of his life because Mr Jordan would frighten and beat him constantly.

The defendants, who are both 62 and live in Scotland, are charged with a catalogue of assaults on 11 children, some as young as two, while they were houseparents at the home between 1970 and 1984.
